“It's BG 44K. Best damn stuff on the planet, IMO. I use this in my other car about every 10-15K miles to clean everything out. Well, I didn't realize just how great it was until now. As you all know, the timing was off on my X for a long, long time. Figuring that I had carbon buildup as a result and that was the reason behind my excess engine noise and power loss (or so it seemed), I decided to try the BG in the Xterra to clean things up.
All I can say is WOW!!! After 1/2 tank of gas I have a noticeable increase in power and reduced engine clatter. Seriously, my engine runs and sounds sweet...almost like the Nissan engine was yanked and someone dropped a BMW inline 6 in there. Well, maybe that's a bit exaggerated, but it's quite a bit smoother and better sounding. I also expect an increase in gas mileage, but I won't know for atleast a week after I fill up and drive normally on the next tank.
BG 44K is a professional grade fuel additive and not available just anywhere. The cost is well worth it for the increased performance and economy. I recommend it's use on an occasional basis even if your car seems to be running fine. My mechanic puts it in his car every 5K miles. I'll try and get a phone number or something so you guys can track it down locally if interested. If anyone wants some and can't find it, I may be able to arrange something too.
Anyway, I'm totally sold on this stuff and am only posting my experiences. Maybe somebody else will think they have lifter noise or whatever and it's really just carbon build-up that can be removed by the BG 44K.

Reference the above table on a BMW M3: This car already felt good from use of Shell Optimax, but now it feels awesome, it hasn't gained 100bhp probably not even 10, but it picks and goes so much quicker especially off of roundabouts where gear changes on familiar roads are noticeably earlier!
"It does exactly what it say's on the tin" Use one can in a tank-full of petrol but don't go out driving and use that tank-full straight away! it takes time to work, in fact Andy told us "the longer its in the fuel system the better (within reason) so try and make the tank-full last at least a couple of weeks" that's what we did with great results.
My 325i's part in proceedings was to have a can of 44K added to a full tank of fuel. While Richard's main aim was to rid himself of problems, I was to perform a different rough test. According to my trip computer, the last 1000 miles or urban combat, blasting past dawdlers on A-roads and motorway cruising was yielding me 28.3 mpg. I zeroed the reading and started again.
Some 400 miles later, under similar workloads, I can report the average settling to 29.6mpg. The car does feel a little fuller in mid-range and the throttle response seems sharper.
It does what is says on the tin, well almost. I did get an increase in mpg of just over 6%, which has got to be good news especially if you're driving a fuel guzzling TXII. My calculations mean that an average driver would, after buying the stuff, be about £300 a year better off, and obviously the more mileage you do the bigger the saving.
There is one additive, known as BG 44K, that shocked O'Neil and the rest of the crew at Barnett. BG 44K is a deposit control additive from Ryno Performance Products. O'Neil said the combustive cocktail did wonders for an old Shovelhead that was slated for a teardown. “We used a scope to look inside the intake tract and the vlaves, and it had heavy carbon build-up.
The exhaust tract was heavily carbonised too,” he explains. “We used half a bottle in the five-gallon tank and ran it through.
The results were phenomenal. It ran great and there wasn't a trace of carbon on the motor, and it even cleaned the carb, and the intake and exhaust tracts,” O'Neil says he also used BG 44K in his truck, which is outfitted with a 350 V8. “! Got three more miles per gallon after three tanks full,” he adds.
BG244, what a difference it has made to my Pajero bellowing smoke and no power. It could not be driven but put your product in and ran the engine for ten minutes. Now spotless and running great, great stuff!! George F, Cheshire.
My 2.2 CTDi Honda Accord with 67,000 miles on the clock had developed a fault whereby I couldn't get it to go much above 2,000rpm and it was becoming harder to start when cold. I did a search on the internet, found out about BG244 and decided to give it a try. Within 20/30 miles it was like driving a new car, sweetly revving all the way through the range, plus it now starts much more easily. I can't recommend this product too strongly -it's fantastic. Just a note to confirm that the BG244 Diesel is truly ‘the bee's knees' (though I suppose one can't strictly use that phrase any longer, given there aren't any bees left.)
On a good run yesterday to the coast and back, the service interval indicator shot back from 7500 miles remaining, to 9000! And all in all, the car just rolls along, with a lovely natural power surge that had previously gone completely AWOL, with now 95000 miles on the clock.
Amazing stuff; finally, a can-in-the-fuel-tank-job that actually works – I'm amazed that 1. More people aren't aware of BG 2. That it isn't available everywhere; interesting though, reading on their site, how the weight of negative publicity about fuel additives prevents them from succeeding further –all too true one suspects.
The oil additive MOA likewise seems to be turning those tired old pistons over in a far more relaxed fashion; great stuff. Ta. All the best, John.
