Archoil AR6400 & BG 44K for Petrol

If you suspect that your vehicle is suffering from accumulated deposits in the fuel system, combustion area or any of the emission control systems such as the EGR, catalytic convertor or particulate filter resulting in:

• Hesitation or Flat Spots?
• Rough Idle?
• Poor Fuel Consumption?
• Lack of Power?
• Poor Acceleration?
• Excessive Exhaust Emissions?

If so, then we can help. Our professional, modern treatments, which are simply added to the fuel, safely clean away accumulated deposits in the entire fuel system (including injectors) and from the combustion areas. They also help remove post combustion deposits from the emission control and exhaust components & filters.

We do not supply “magic” additives that claim wildly increased horsepower or fuel economy. What our high strength cleaners, such as Archoil AR6400 (petrol and diesel), BG44K (Petrol) and BG244 (Diesel) actually do is restore lost performance by removing accumulated deposits in both the fuel system and engine. Performance and economy degradation is then restored and providing there are no underlying problems, your vehicle will perform as it did when it left the factory.

Our regular use fuel conditioners then maintain a clean fuel system and engine whilst offering additional benefits such as: cleaning maintenance, fuel storage protection, lubrication, combustion modification

You may have heard about our products from car clubs and internet forums. If so, you will be familiar with the positive response they have received.
What makes our one-shot cleaners so effective? A main contributory factor is the high-concentrate polyether amine chemistry. As proven by the Engine Manufacturers Association (www.enginemanufacturers.org) and the World Wide Fuel Charter (WWFC), PEA as it is commonly known, is the only recognised and approved chemical compound for FAST removal of hard baked carbon deposits. All of our high strength cleaners are rich in PEA.

FACT: Internal combustion engines are inefficient and whilst this remains the case they will accumulate deposits. Whilst steps have been taken to include detergents in fuel, unfortunately, they DO NOT contain enough to keep an engine free from deposits.

How You Can Verify Our Cleaners Work? – Our Challenge to You…

If the own a petrol vehicle then before adding our product, remove one of the spark plugs from the engine and shine a torch down the spark plug hole. You will notice that the top of the piston is black and coated with a carbon build-up. Similarly, the valves and other parts of the internal intake system are likely to be in a similar condition. Now add one of our high strength cleaners with a full tank of fuel. The carbon will start to dissolve and will be removed through the normal engine combustion process.

The Challenge….
After you are half way through that tank of fuel, remove the spark plug again and shine a torch down the spark plug hole and re-check the condition of the top of the piston. You will notice that much of the carbon is removed and that you will clearly see signs of a cleaner piston and without deposits. After a full tank of fuel, all you will see is a clean piston with no carbon deposits. We were even able to read the part/serial number on the top of the pistons in our test vehicles! Not only does it thoroughly clean the entire fuel system but it also removes all carbon deposits.

Our cleaners have proved particularly valuable to high performance cars imported from Japan. Such vehicles have usually been run on fuels with a much higher octane levels than equivalent fuels in the UK. As a compromise these fuels contain more additives, which as a consequence, can increase the accumulation of deposits in the fuel system. Such deposits partially block and hinder the performance of the fuel injectors and other parts of the fuel system.

  2. on 17/10/09 used bg44k in 14 year old 1.3cl petrol vw polo 86000 miles and 10 year old polo 1.0L petrol 78000 miles 1.3cl was slugish on acceration and 1.0L just bought was hesitant in acceration both displays as if timing need adjusting .put can of bg 44k in each car filled tank to brim 45 litres petrol capacity 1.3cl as soon as i drove off forcourt stuff worked immediately was accerating as if there was never a problem since then it has been getting faster and faster in a smooth with no hesitation it actually drives like when i had car new 14years ago.just given me 39mpg around city /local drving.
with 1.0L hesitation has completely gone AS SOON AS I LEFT FORCOURT notice smooth acceration in this car too .
as both cars doing great decided to change spark plugs as they had done 38000 miles and were ready for renewal NGK spark plugs 3 prong type.NOTICE AFTER PLUGS REMOVAL THE PISTONS 1 AND 4 VIRTUALLY FREE FROM CARBON IN FACT HALF WAS SHINY STAINLESS STEEL METAL I COULD ACTUALLY READ NUMBERS ON PISTON ONE ,THIS WAS ONLY AFTER CARS HAD USED 1/4 OF TANK PISTONS 3 AND 4 HAD CARBON BUT NOT AS MUCH AS EXPECTED COULD SEE CARBON WAS BEING REMOVED .
I THINK THE ORIGINAL PROBLEMS I HAD MUST HAVE BEEN CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND BG 44 CLEANED THEM IMMEDIATELY AMAZING STUFF NOW GOING TO PUT BG BIG MOA (BG100)in engine(added to engine oil).
ALREADY ADDED BG244 TO MY GOLF MK5 DIESEL 2.0 GTDTi,only done 27000miles 5 years old no problems although acceration again seems to have gone from better to great as it was when new.
i was not sure about this stuff for many years price of £20 plus put me off i am converted brilliant because i read FUELTECHEXPERTS THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ,I used to use redex 30 years ago in ford capri1.6XL. car lasted 10 years used to put it in car ,each fill up but on changing plugs every 12000 miles never noticed pistons clean from carbon and never helped with usual engine problems fuel economy was terrible.

  3. Decided to put BG44k in to my modifies Mini Cooper S as it had done 46k miles. The car was pinking in the higher revs even with super plus fuel.

Days after adding BG44K the car engine started to change.
1 On starting no pedal was required unlike before
2 No pinking in higher revs
    3 High fuel consumption

People said it must have been blocked injectors, but they were new. So it looks like this stuff has worked well, but the engine now needs to be retuned (what will it run like after tune?)

Hi Andy, I assume the engine is stock and without performance modifications? In which case, there is no need for an engine tune. The ECU will relearn by restoring optimum fueling and ignition timing and thus restore any lost performance.

Hi Dave, I would recommend 44K for the fuel to remove all carbon build-up but for the oil gallery blockage you will require BG Quick Clean (engine flush), to use imemdiately before a fresh oil change.

  5. Hi I have a Y plate 2.2 Vectra and the injectors are very noisey. Will BG44K reduce this noise?
Also what product would you reccommend for noisey hydrualic lifters?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike

Hi, only if the noise is a result of deposit build-up. I would recommend the BG Quick Clean engine flush followed by an oil change for the lifters.

  6. Hi, I’ve just taken my car to the garage after noticing the car vibrating violently @~1200rpm and have been told that I need to replace the EGR Valve which will cost £285. It is a 2.2L Vauxhall Astra MK4 Coupe Bertone and am told this is a very common problem with the Z22SE engine.

Would this cleaner work on this part which I’m assuming is blocked? and save me all that money.

    Thanks

    Richard

Hi Richard, If the EGR is completely blocked then 44K will struggle. It would be best to remove the EGR and related pipe work and clean it by hand. Then use 44K afterwards to remove any remaining carbon from the system.

  7. Greetings from Northern Ireland,

I have just acquired a 1989EFi Rolls Silver Spirit. I have had three RR cars over the years – they have all been marvellous and quite extraordinary reliable. I have not driven a Spirit before. It is in wonderful condition but although ten of thousands have been spent mostly with top firms such as P and A Wood, S.C. Gordon, etc. recent service history is missing. The last 17 MOT’s are in place – a useful check on genuine mileage. So I am starting off immediately (in case there has been some neglect) with BG44. The petrol tank is the usual 24 gallons. I would like your advice on the correct dosage. The famous 6.75 litre engine is practically indestructable, nonethe less can you recommend suitable treatments for this also.

Everything MAY be in perfect order but it is better to safe than sorry!

    James

Hi James, just add 1 can of 44K to just over 1/2 a tank of fuel, approx 60 litres. No need to use more than one can.

  8. Can you tell me how this product would clean the back of the inlet valves inside the inlet port on a direct injection engine like the Mini Cooper S? I have a Mini Cooper S which is prone to this problem.

Hi, the back of the inlet valves is the most difficult area to clean as they are generally out of reach of system carbon removers. However, we are testing a new product for this by Archoil.

  10. My car is a 1999 Vectra 2ltr petrol. Quickfit said the effect would be even better if I used one can with a full tank of petrol, then put another one in when there was 1/4 tank fuel left and refill with petrol? Is that correct? Is it worth using two cans like this? Could it do harm, or would I just get a mega cleaning effect? If so, should I do the same with my Audi TT (2001 1.8) ? Thanks. Steve.

Hi Steve, Not quite correct. Administer the 44K with a full tank of fuel and then fill up with fuel again when the tank reaches approx 1/4. No need to use another can of 44K at this point. Use a single can every 5-10k miles.

  17. In your article you say to fill with ‘petrol’ AFTER adding BG44K, is this the same for diesel engines ? Also can BG44k or 244 be added after filling up with diesel rather than waiting to get down to a third of a tank?

Hi, it doesn’t really matter when you add the fuel as it mixes instantly anyway. The only reason why we recommend filling up afterwards is so that all the cleaner is washed down the filler neck. Many users fill up first, return home and add the cleaner and then top up with a litre or 2 from a gerry can to wash it down the filler neck.

  22. Ok.i have bought a can of BG44K and waiting on delivery from registered seller. but reading report there. basically this is what is said..bg44k claims to work so well because of high PEA content which makes it so pricy. then it says there is now less PEA content but the price is still the same. pls put my mind at rest as ive just paid £23 for a tin which im now wondering if forte would have done same job for £10.. dont get me wrong 8/10 reviews are great but the other 3 make u wonder

Hi Craig, Unfortunately, the info you have been given is incorrect or based on incorrect assumptions concerning PEA. The formula for 44K has not changed and still contains the same level of PEA as it always had. We were the first to reveal the importance of PEA to the public over 3 years ago, much to the disappointment of the industry, and now everyone is an “expert” on the subject. As a result of our revelation other manufacturers are marketing their cleaners as “PEA” cleaners. The fact is the polyether-amine family of chemicals is vast and they are not all the same.

We blogged on this recently. http://www.powerenhancer.co.uk/news/bg44k-motorsilk-compared-to-other-products/96/

I’ve read on some forums that the ‘instruction’ say that having added the BG44K to a full tank, use only 3/4 of the tank then fill up again to keep the stuff in the system for longer (presumably more diluted though). Is this correct? It doesn’t mention this on the tin, so what is the way to get the best results from this stuff? Is town or motorway driving the better or does it make no difference to the cleaning results?

  32. Hi

I have heard great things about this product, but I have one concern. If BG44K cleans the engine & restores it back to ‘factory new’ condition, will that mean that compression will be reduced until a small build up of carbon is resotred?

    Thanks,
    Lee

Hi Lee, compression is restored back to the factory optimum. If compression is high due to excessive buildup on top of the piston then it will be reduced (restored). If compression is low due to deposits pushing the ring from the bore then these deposits will be removed and thus the compression increased (restored). Hope that helps. Regards, PE Team

The oil has only just been changed and won’t be due at the service- although I understand its most ideal to put the can through then change the oil… talk about bad timing- although I could always do another oil change. 40. I have a Radical Racing Car fitted with a modestly tuned 1299 Hayabusa engine running on FCR 41 Carbs (meaning it has to be fuelled with minimum 98 Octane); it’s started to exhibit an intermittent acceleration pick-up hesitation when coming out of bends at about 5-6K revs; I can best describe it as a couple of seconds of hardly responding to full throttle, then it seems to take note of what’s being asked of it, then it flies as usual. 99% of the time, it’s going just fine.

I’m about to investigate further (leads, plugs, fuel filter etc), but one of the things that occurs to me is perhaps ‘gunge’ gathering in and around the carbs.

Is it OK to use BG44K in this particular situation/application, particularly as the tank is ‘fire-foam’-filled? If so, whilst the tank could hold something like 45 litres, normally we run for say 20-30mins with about 20 litres onboard to bring it back with say 5 or so litres left; would running through one tank of 20 litres treated with BG44K be enough or would it be best to do say two runs with 40 litres of BG44K added? Depending on which quantity of fuel, what quantity of BG44K should I adding? Presumably, the addition of the BG44K won’t adversely affect the fuel’s octane rating?

Hi, yes , 44K will safely remove any carb deposits. Use 1/2 a can to treat 20 litres. Regards, PE Team

I filled my tank after putting in the BG244 and ran it for a couple of weeks. I then ran the diagnostic test again and cleared the fault. Hi Tony, don’t worry as 44K cannot do any harm. Please contact us if the engine warning light continues and we’ll help diagnose it for you. Regards, PE Team

  46. Hi

I have A motorbike (zx6r) and suspect it’s gummed up slightly after last owner had it sitting around for a while, and i’ve read that regardless on how much fuel you have in a tank you still put a full can in with it, But my bike probably holds maximum 18 litres, surely a whole can would be much more stronger for this? Would half a can be sufficient?

    Regards,

Hi, use between 1/4 and 1/3 of a can to treat a full tank of fuel. Kind regards, PE Team

  47. Hi PE Team

I have been using BG 244 in my BMW 320 d for a number of years with over 200k miles to date, it still runs beautiful and very clean, fantastic product. After removing the “swirl flaps” they were in pristine condition, but still retain them on the garage for safety to the turbo !!!!. I have just received some BG44k to put in our 06 Merc SLK 200 compressor and have read that the octane products in the cleaner alongside the 99 octane fuel we use may be to much for the engine. can you please advise.

    Regards

Hi 44K does not provide any octane increase and is fine to use with higher octane fuel. Best regards, PE Team

  48. Hi

I have a 1.6T Vauxhall Astra SRI 2009 plate. I have done just over 12,000 miles and would like to know if BG44K would be safe to use in my car? I have started to notice the car does not have the same feel to it when driving. Can i expect a decent improvement in the overall running of the car if i use this product? Feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi, it is safe to use. Is is difficult to determine what gain you will get without understanding the current condition of the fuel system and combustion area. You will see a gain if there is any deposits in the fuel system or combustion area. Kind regards, PE Team

  49. one of the replies by you says any deposits removed by bg44k is burnt off as co2 does this mean it would be inadvisable to use this before taking car for an MOT regards jc

Hi, it will be fine unless the carbon is excessive. Regards, PE Team

  52. Amazing, my 2007 Astra SXI had failed it’s mot on emissions, co2 read at 14.206 on idle, the tester recomended 44k to see if it reduced emissions, rather than a diagnostic check and lambda replace(the vauxhall dealer we bought the car from recomended a full investigation and a possible new cat at stupid amounts of money) I added 44k to a 1/4 tank and topped up the tank and took the car back to the centre for a re-test, I only covered 80 miles between tests, and my emission re-test read co2 0.020%, gone is the cold start judder and the engine knock on ilde, it is like driving a different car, I just wish I could submit pictures of my emissions failure and pass print outs

  55. Hi there, I have a 2002 honda civic em2 which when i purchased was very nippy and reasonably torquey in lower gears. Recently it has lost a lot of power and feels like something is holding it back. It feels like it begins hesitating and choking at around 3k – 5k revs, especially on a cold morning. It seems like the fuel is disappearing faster as well. Would 44K fix this problem?

    Thanks,

    Kay

Hi, it will help if the issue is the result of deposits in the fuel system or combustion area. Kind regards, PE Team

  57. Hi, I used the BG44k on my 1997 Benz C230. After 90 miles the gas improved considerably, however the car is sstarted shaking at cold start while in drive or park. Any idea why? Also do I need to change the oil and gas filter after I refill the tank? Thanks

Hi Nick, I would suggest giving us a call and we’ll try and diaganose the issue for you. Kind regards, PE Team
